FAQs
What is the difference between brow lamination and brow tinting?
Brows can truly shape the face, so you want to make sure it’s always done to your taste! With brow lamination, it’s a procedure that sculpts the brow’s appearance using a chemical process to temporarily reshape and set the brow hairs into a desired direction. This helps create a lifted and fuller appearance, and perfect for those who have full and pesky brow hairs that go in different directions. This is a great non-invasive alternative to microblading.
Not all eyebrow lamination comes with tint, but we can definitely combine the two. A brow tint is a quick and easy treatment that adds semi-permanent brow dye to strengthen the color of the natural brow. This process is similar to dying the hair on your head, and it may stain the skin of the brow bone to help fill in any sparse areas where hair is thinner. Tinting is great for those who have graying hairs or want to have a fuller look without having to prepare your brows every day.
How often do I have to come in, or how long does it last?
Brow lamination typically lasts 6-8 weeks; this is dependent on your personal hair growth cycle and aftercare. To increase longevity, we recommend avoiding water/sweat in the brow area, or using brow makeup within the first 24 hours after the lamination service. Continue to add a serum or oil to keep the hairs moisturized and conditioned. Reschedule for another brow lamination after the 6-8 week period to maintain the brow’s appearance.
Brow and lash tint lasts about 4 weeks. To maintain a long-lasting effect, we recommend keeping the eye area dry for 24 hours after you complete tinting services, and to use oil-free makeup removers and creams in the affected areas of treatment.
Is this a painful procedure / do I need numbing?
Brow lamination and tinting are typically pain-free procedures that are recommended as alternatives to more permanent procedures such as microblading and brow tattooing. Some experience a mild tingling sensation when chemical solutions are applied to your brow for lamination services.
How should I prepare?
We recommend you avoid any exfoliants or retinoids for 5-7 days before your scheduled appointment. You should come with a clean brow and eye area free of makeup. You can work closely with our estheticians on the shape and style you’d like your brow to be!
Can I still apply my makeup on my brows and lashes after the service?
Be cautious when applying makeup to the serviced areas for the first 24-48 hours. Using lightweight, water-based products and powders is recommended, as waterproof makeup requires some friction to remove, which may affect the effectiveness of the brow and lash tint.
How much does it cost?
$60 for lash or brow tinting
$120 for brow lamination
$120 for lash lift
- Ask your esthetician to add it to your appointment!
Anything I should avoid after the service?
It’s best to avoid moisture in the brow area, whether it’s water or sweat, in 24 hours after brow tinting or lamination. Avoiding prolonged sun exposure and chlorinated swimming pools help to prolong the effects of the tinting.
