Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that uses short, fine needles to penetrate the skin, causing ‘micro-injuries.’ The purpose is to stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process, which activates collagen and elastin production. Microneedling can help significantly improve acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, and skin texture.
Microneedling is an excellent option for anti-aging treatments and scar reduction. Because of its abilities to increase collagen production, Microneedling is most effective for:
- Acne scarring
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Minimize pore size
- Healthy and glowing complexion
- Tone, tighten and strengthen the skin
Is there downtime after a Microneedling Treatment?
Patients should expect mild to moderate swelling and redness, similar to a mild sunburn. There may be some mild bruising in some patients as well. This will begin to minimize after 3 – 7 days post-treatment. We recommend one treatment yearly to prevent sun and age-related skin changes, twice a year for reduced pores and glowing/toned skin, or a series of 3 – 5 (treatments) for the repair of sun damage, fine lines, and acne scarring.
Can PRP be paired with a Microneedling Treatment?
Adding PRP to a Microneedling treatment is an excellent method for maximizing the skin’s wound healing process. Your skin will experience an ultimate rejuvenating treatment, as the PRP supplies the skin with proteins and other growth factors that speed up the recovery process.
