After trying the NAD+ injection and feeling like I had unlocked a new level of energy, I decided to keep the wellness momentum going with something I’ve heard tons of people rave about: glutathione injections. I did mine with Dr. Monica and RN Stephanie at the Kona Wellness clinic, and here’s everything I learned (and felt) after trying it myself.
Over time, stress, aging, and environmental toxins can deplete your glutathione levels. That’s where these injections come in – glutathione is a powerful antioxidant naturally produced in the liver. It plays a critical role in detoxification, immune support, and protecting your cells from oxidative stress. It helps flush out toxins, neutralize free radicals, and even supports skin health and brightness.
I love the glutathione injection for its skin-brightening benefits, but it does a lot more than that. Because it works at the cellular level, glutathione helps support your body from the inside out.
Potential benefits include:
- a brighter, clearer skin tone
- reduced hyperpigmentation and melasma
- enhanced detoxification support (especially for liver health)
- a boost to the immune system
- reduced inflammation
- and anti-aging effects through cellular repair
For general wellness or detox support, once weekly or bi-weekly is a great place to start. If you’re doing it for skin brightening or pigmentation, a series of 8-12 weekly treatments is typically recommended, followed by maintenance doses every 2-4 weeks.
The treatments are quick. It is just a small injection in the upper arm (RN Stephanie is a pro) — and there’s no downtime. I felt totally normal afterward, and over the next few days, I noticed a slight glow, better digestion, and overall felt better. If you’re already doing other skin or wellness treatments, glutathione is an amazing add-on that can amplify your results.
Want to try it? Just ask the front desk or your provider next time you’re in — we’re happy to talk through what’s right for your skin and goals.
