On June 29th in Northern California, Christopher Green got on one knee and proposed to Monica Scheel in Muir Woods. It was a beautiful day, crisp, cool and the sun was beaming down through the 400 year-old Redwood trees. After talking long enough to make him nervous, she of course said yes…she’d met her guy! Afterwards, they went to meet some of their best friends at Domaine Carneros in Napa Valley for champagne and to deliver the good news!
Christopher is a website designer and graphic artist who has been living on Lanikai beach on eastern Oahu for 7 years. He is originally from the LA area of California and most of his clients are still from that area. He majored in Industrial Design, so he has a lot of manufacturing clients, he has also taken on non-profits and local Hawaiian companies since moving to the islands.
Chris and Monica met at the Royal Hawaiian when Monica was on Oahu with her girlfriends to see the musical “Wicked”. They spent a lot of their earlier dating time writing each other emails. But even through the emails, they knew that the other was someone special.
After 8 years of living on this island, Dr. Scheel is getting married! “I found my sweetheart elsewhere but luckily he moved here!” Chris moved here in June and they are getting married next June 2014 on ʻAnaehoʻomalu Bay.

Monica is very happy! Her chocolate labs love Chris. They enjoy running, kayaking, and hiking on the island. Good news….she’s not leaving!!
