New Icon 1540 Laser in Waimea!

Rejuvenate your skin with our new, high-speed, fractionated Icon 1540 skin tightening laser now available in our Waimea office! The new Icon 1540 is a non-ablative, high speed, fractional resurfacing laser that uses 2 different microlenses for greater depth of penetration with minimal downtime. It treats a variety of skin conditions including sun damage, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, melasma and aged skin. The microlens places controlled columns of laser beams that penetrate into the dermal layer of the skin. Each micro-column of skin coagulation is surrounded by untreated skin allowing accelerated healing to the treated areas. With this technology, the surface of the skin, the epidermis, is spared thereby reducing the chance of pigment stimulation while accelerating the recovery time. The results are consistent and safe. For darker skin types such as Asians, Hawaiians, Filipinos, Hispanics, etc., the 1540 laser provides a much safer alternative to the ablative lasers or CO2 lasers.Rejuvenating aging skin with the 1540 laser will smooth fine lines and tighten the skin by rebuilding collagen and elastin. Sun damage (dull skin tone, melasma, wrinkles, large pore size) will also improve with each treatment. The 1540 laser helps to fill in acne scars by stimulating collagen over a series of treatments. Surgical and traumatic scars fade and flatten. The 1540 is the first FDA cleared laser for treatment of stretch marks, shrinking and blending them into the background skin. One treatment takes about 30 minutes on the face and only topical numbing cream is needed for comfort. Except for some mild swelling for 24-48 hours and some light bronzing to the color of the skin for a week, there is minimal downtime! Since the fractionated 1540 laser is less invasive than other types of laser resurfacing, most people choose three to five sessions, three to six weeks apart, for best results. I recommend trying a series of three, one to two months apart for skin tightening and a series of six for scars or deeper wrinkles.
