JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC injectable Gel Comes To Kona! By Patsy Colvin, PA-C Dr. Scheel is pleased to announce the addition of JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC injectable gel to her practice. Voluma is a hyaluronic acid gel, which is FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring, hydrating substance found in your skin. As you age, you start to lose HA, which causes the skin to lose structure and volume. Voluma gives you a beautiful, subtle lift, helping to restore natural contours and a more youthful profile for up to 2 years! It works by replacing lost volume in the cheek area. Full correction of the mid face restores a naturally youthful look by restoring the facial contours of youth in a three dimensional way. With optimal correction, even areas distant from the injection site are lifted, including the nasolabial folds (parentheses around the mouth), the corners of the mouth, and the jawline. Depending on the amount of volume loss, the usual amount needed for full correction varies from 2-4 syringes. Dr. Scheel has found Voluma to be an excellent addition to her practice, yielding soft, natural beautiful results every time. She highly recommends it!

Here is a photograph of Dr. Scheel, with the right half of her face injected with Voluma, 5 minutes before the picture was taken. The left side has not been treated. Notice the subtle changes: the soft, natural, youthful contours of the cheek. Note how the Voluma has softened the under eye hollow, softened the corner of her eye, lifted the nasolabial fold, the corner of the mouth, and even the jawline! Needless to say, she is very happy with the results!
